• Large wooden spoon
  • White acrylic paint
  • Black permanent marker or paint pen
  • Small pieces of cardboard
  • Red stretchy material (such as a T-shirt)
  • Raffia
  • White paper twist
  • Three big gold buttons
  • Hot glue gun and glue
  1. Begin by painting the wooden spoon with white acrylic paint and allow it to dry completely.
  2. Cut out two triangles from cardboard. Place a bit of padding under one triangle, then hot glue a piece of red stretchy material over both triangles.
  3. Hot glue one of the triangles to the wooden spoon, positioning it near the handle to create a beak. Place the second triangle (with padding) on top of the first triangle to give it a three-dimensional effect.
  4. Cut out a crown shape from cardboard, using the tips of your three middle fingers as a guide. Hot glue padding and red stretchy material over the crown shape, then hot glue it to the top of the spoon to create a crown.
  5. Tie a bow with the raffia and hot glue it to the spoon near the handle.
  6. Tie a piece of white paper twist around the middle of the spoon to create wings, then hot glue it in place.
  7. Glue the three gold buttons down the front of the spoon to finish the craft. All done!
